Strategies employed

1.Connect (Hook and Hold) (5 mins)
+ Recall the links learned the previous lesson. Were those links a suitable way of representing data in our research? No, it does not communicate in a standard format that everyone uses.

+ Ask students to state the difference between Bibliography, References and In-text Citation. They can refer to these two web-pages:

2.Acquire and Make meaning (Receive Knowledge and skills, and understanding learning outcomes) (40 mins)

+ Students must also learn how to cite their reference and write their reference/ bibliography page.
+ For each group, using at least 6 articles that they have chosen as their information source, use the format below to generate the correct way of referencing their work.

+ If you cannot find the date of publication, use the date of access. The date of access should be 2019 if you are writing the report in 2019.
+ If there are more than 1 author, you may use the et al.  Et al. typically stands in for two or more names, especially in bibliographical information. It's preceded by a comma only when more than one name is listed (as in cases in which two or more texts are authored by the same person or by people with the same surname):
e.g. 1: The book by Carson et al. is regarded as the authoritative text on the topic.
e.g. 2: The article by Jones, Perez, et al. is well-known, but the one by Jones, Lee, et al. has been more widely cited.
+ Write down the correct format in the Group Project Proposal.
+ Demonstrate to students how to cite in the Introduction paragraph and the Reference page using the dragonflies example:

http://sst2013-s210airs.blogspot.com/p/6-references.html

+ The Bibliography page is for all the articles. They can be both cited and NOT cited.

3.Transfer (Formative checks, reflections, etc.) (5 mins)

+ Remind students to start writing/editing their Introduction paragraphs with proper citation.

+ They should also fill up their Reference and Bibliography page in their Group Project Proposal with at least 3 references and 6 bibliographies (includes all the 3 cited articles and 3 non-cited articles).
